(July 29) Ages 5-6: Red Groups A-E


Ages 5 – 6
Group 1
PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT GOING TO THE BEACH on Wednesday.  We are just pretending to go to the beach. So the children are only dressing up with swimming equipment, but ARE NOT GOING SWIMMING.

Adventure Activities -  The children are continuing with balloon games today, including a balloon relay!
Stories and Drama - We discussed and shared our dreams as we read from the story "The Three Trees". Although the trees had their own dreams, God had better plans for them. Jeremiah 29:11

ART -  Today in art class, the red class will be finger painting trees and the yellow class will continue making tissue paper flowers.

GAMES AND MOVEMENT Theme: God protects His children
We will discuss "refuges" with children and how God can protect them.
Activity: Parachute

Music  Today we are learning the 2nd verse to OBEDIENCE and doing worksheet about the 10 commandments.  We’re also reviewing songs from Session 2 week 1.

Adventure Activities  Today we’re playing charades.
Stories and Drama -  Today, the students will be hearing a different version of The Tale of the Three Trees and will be discovering the differences and similarities in folktales. 

MUSIC Today in class, we learned a new song called "Jesus is my superhero", and learned about strings and woodwind instruments. After that, we played a fun new game with them! 

GAMES and MOVEMENT -In today’s class we will be playing capture the flag! The children will learn the importance of teamwork and strategy.


ART –On Tuesday this week, we are using pastels and colour paper to make tree 'puppets', using popsicle sticks.  The front of the puppet will look like a tree, and the back will have something that can be made from a tree.  This represents the transforming power of God!
